Product Description:
All the creatures of the night gather in "the Hollows" of Cincinnati, to hide, to prowl, to party ... and to feed.
Vampires rule the darkness in a predator-eat-predator world rife with dangers beyond imagining -- and it’s Rachel Morgan's job to keep that world civilized.
A bounty hunter and witch with serious sex appeal and an attitude, she'll bring 'em back alive, dead ... or undead.

This one was alright. Just alright. Wasn't anything great, but I'll still pick up the next one to see if it gets any better.
Rachel Morgan is a witch with a purpose. As a sort of supernatural bounty hunter, she is charged with keeping the peace in the Hollows, a melting pot containing all the various creatures the supernatural world has to offer. Problem is, Rachel isn't super good at her job, and her boss is out to get her. However, her former partner Ivy, is good at her job and ... Read More

This series was recommended by a friend. At least I thought she was a friend. I don't know if she even likes me after having read the first book of this series. It was close to torture. It takes A LOT for me to not like a book. I can read almost ANYTHING, but this book... I can't even put it into words. I had to force myself to finish reading this and when I was done all I kept saying to myself was "WTH was that and what did I do to my friend to tick her off?" What really drives me insane is that ... Read More

I have been waiting to read this series for quite a while. I was a little disappointed with this book but I am not sure it is the author's fault. I started out listening on iPod and I got irritated with it. The reader is ok. That wasn't the problem. I just got very frustrated and felt like it was taking forever. So I gave up on the audio book and picked up the paperback version and I felt much better.
I enjoyed the character of Rachel Morgan. She is tough, smart, and has an every-person ... Read More

This books start out interesting enough, but what a let down a few chapters in. Don't bother.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book. Each character was written smoothly and with rich personalities. The plot is fun with lots of layers that set her up for other novels and will hopefully will be pursued and answered(ex. who sent the demon after Rachel and Trent; what exactly did Trent's dad do to Rachel at the camp).
So if I liked it so much, then why did it give it only 4 stars? That has to do with Rachel. Her character shows a lot of immaturity in this book. I don't have the book beside ... Read More
