This book was great. I bought it for my boys for a book report for homeschooling. I read it so we could talk about it together. This book was very touching and kept their interest.

I first read this book in grade school with the help of my mom. I remember it fondly as a heroic tale with a sad ending. I remember the illustrations vividly.
I walked past this book at the book store recently and was thrilled to see it and remember how much I had enjoyed it. I read it that night.

Willy and his grandfather live on a farm. Willy's grandfather is sick and is about to lose the farm because he can't pay the taxes. Willy meets an Indian called Stone Fox. Stone Fox races every year in the dog-sled races held near the farm. Stone fox never loses the race Willy enters the race to hopefully win the [..] prize.
