1. Join the PMI Institute. You will receive a free copy of the PMBOK Guide on CD. Buy the paperback PMBOK Guide from Amazon, you will want both.
2. Buy Rita Mulcaby's book, PMP Exam Prep.

I have heard from many people that this is one of the best study guides for the PMP test. While I agree it is comprehensive, it is clearly written with the assumption that the reader is currently a project manager in a traditional, most likely technical, corporate environment. I have been a project manager in the construction industry and although many of my techniques are similar to those used in corporate america, I feel like we are speaking two different languages.
